Vivek Rao is a seasoned investment professional with extensive experience across global public equities, venture capital, principal investing, and strategic corporate finance. He currently serves as Chief Investment Officer at Tempest Peak Management, where he leads global public equity strategies and oversees investment decisions across diverse markets. Vivek has also been active as an angel investor and limited partner, participating in high-profile venture investments in technology and artificial intelligence, collaborating alongside prominent industry leaders.
Earlier in his career, Vivek gained deep expertise in principal investing and M&A at Macquarie Capital, focusing on the technology, media, and telecom sectors across Asia, and played a key role in originating cross-border acquisition mandates.
He also worked in investment banking at Bank of America, contributing to major transactions including leveraged buyouts and large-scale M&A deals, and held a strategic leadership role at Vodafone, where he coordinated the company’s $2.4 billion 3G spectrum bid and developed frameworks for emerging market growth.
In addition to his investment career, Vivek is Deputy Chairman of the New Silk Road Forum (NSRF), a global think tank that convenes influential leaders to explore topics in geopolitics, global economics, finance, technology, and culture. In this role, he helps facilitate high-level discussions and collaboration among investors, policymakers, and thought leaders, shaping the dialogue on international markets and investment trends.
